Price:   £129.99

Manufactured from the finest European Redwood. The 3.0m x 1.19m extension kits are to be used in conjunction with one or more decking kits to enlarge the deck area. The kit contains all the fixings required to build your flat deck, and handrail kits are also available in a variety of widths to complete the package. For a raised deck just add 95mm posts to your shopping cart.

Each deck is high pressure treated and this water repellent slows down the rate of water absorption and evaporation, therefore ensuring the longevity of your deckboards. At first the deckboards sport an even, green hue. Then time and weathering do their work, transforming them to their natural shade of honey brown; a process that means no further treatment is needed. The final colour is up to you- the boards can be painted or stained to match their surroundings.

CONTENTS:-

2 no. 3m x 100mm x 50mm joists
6 no. 1.09m x 100mm x 50mm joists
9 no. 3m x 120mm x 28mm grooved decking boards
08 no. 60mm screws
29 no. 100mm screws

Tools required:- a power screwdriver/drill; a 4mm drillbit; a tape measure; a handsaw; a spirit level; and a
string line.

GROUNDWORK:-

Weekend deck kits needs to be placed on a flat surface. We can supply suggested base plans and recommend using 600mm x 600mm x 50mm paving slabs, set on 50mm thick mortar beds (not supplied). Mortar beds should be laid on compacted soil with turf removed. All slabs should be level, square and to the dimensions supplied on the base plans.

To avoid plant growth through the deck boards a weed suppressant should be used. These are available from most good garden centres or diy stores.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:-

1. Set out the 100 x 50mm joists as per base plan, on top of slab bases.
2. Pre drill end joists (4mm bit) and fix to joists using 100mm screws.
3. Set out noggins as shown in base plan, pre drill joists and fix using 100mm screws. Note: it may be necessary to cut the final noggin due to variation in timber sizes.
4. Lay out the120mm x 28mm grooved decking onto the frame. Align boards with outside of frame whilst leaving equal spaces between boards
5. Pre drill decking boards (4mm bit) and fix to joists using 60mm screws. Use the string line to keep all the screws in a straight line. Use 10no. screws for each length of decking, locating screws in the two outer grooves.
6. Fix the two facia boards in place to finish off the appearance of your deck.
7. The timber has been pressure treated to enhance the life of the deck. A further coat of a suitable coloured deck care product is recommended.
