Bowlix is a new, simple, exciting game for your entertainment and amusement. It is an outdoor game that is best played on a flat grassy area or gravel pitch at least 6 x 1 m.
Contents:
- 6 Balls
- 9 small Bowlix pins
- 1 large Bowlix pin
- Carry bag
- Game rules
Game rules
Playing area:
The pins are set up according to the figure below. The width and length of the playing area and the placement of the pins can be varied in accordance with opinions and preferences: a short playing field for easier, faster play or a long playing field for more difficult, longer play.

Players:
Bowlix is designed for 2 players and up. The more players there are, the more teams. There should not be more than 3 players on a team.
Object of the game:
The object of the game is to get points by knocking over the pins. The 9 small pins are worth 1 point each and the large pin is worth 5 points. If you knock down all 3 small pins in one group, at the same time with one ball, you get 5 points.
How to play:
Once the playing field is in order and the teams are selected you draw lots to see who starts. The team that starts (Team-1) divides up the six balls within the team and stands behind the throwing line. After that, the team members take turns in throwing the balls at the different pins in an attempt to knock down as many as possible. Thrown balls are not picked up until all balls have been thrown. When all balls have been thrown, the total points are added up and notated on a point pad.
If the large pin has been knocked down after all 6 balls have been thrown, the turn is ended and you set up all the pins as they stood in the beginning and the next team (Team-2) gets ready to throw.
If the large pin has not been knocked down you let the small pins lie as they are, the balls are picked up and a bonus round begins.
Bonus round: If Team-1 is unable to knock down the large pin with its 6 balls, Team-2 has a chance to earn 5 bonus points by knocking this pin down with one ball.
Team-2 selects a member who gets to try to knock down the large pin with one ball. If it is knocked down, the team gets 5 bonus points and the bonus round is concluded. If they fail, Team-3 gets the chance, etc., until the large pin is knocked down or until each team has had a try. After the bonus throw, all the pins are set-up again like usual and Team-2 starts its turn.
How the game is won:
The first team to get exactly 30 points wins. If a team gets more than 30 points they go back to 15 points and must begin from there on their next turn.
Variation 1: One variation of the normal rules is that the first team to reach 30 points or more wins. If more than one team has over 30 points when an equal number of turns have been played, the team with the most total points wins.
General:
- If a pin does not completely fall over, but is leaning against a pin that is still standing, that pin is not considered to have been knocked down. However, if a pin is leaning against a pin that has already been knocked down, that pin is also considered to be knocked down.
- If a ball that is thrown hits a pin, or a ball that was thrown previously, and in turn this knocks down any of the other pins… consider this good luck. This also counts.
