The sizing chart assumes that the desired pool temperature is 29°C; the ambient air temperature is not less than 15°C; and that a heat retention cover is used. Heat loss will be greater from above ground pools compared to in-ground.

The energy is collected from the air outside and transferred to the pool water using the same technology that is used in air-conditioning units and fridges. For each single kW used by the Energy Pro heat pump, between 4 and 5kW are returned to the pool as heat.

This 5.6Kw Energy Pro Swimming Pool Heat Pump is suitable for heating either chlorine or salt water above ground or in-ground pools that hold up to around 15,000 litres (3,300 gallons) of water. This recommendation assumes that your desired pool temperature is 29 degrees, the ambient air temperature is not less than 15 degrees and a heat retention cover is also used.

How Does A Heat Pump Work?

It works in fact like a fridge in reverse. For every unit of electricity that you put in to run the compressor you will get approx. 4.6 units of heat out of the heat pump- so nearly 80% of the energy is FREE!
To heat your pool correctly you will need to run your filtration for a minimum of 12 hours a day throughout the season and use a solar cover when the pool is not in use.
