Competition RA 14kW Titanium Indoor/Outdoor Heat Pump
Why choose a heat pump?
Simply because it.s inexpensive - to buy - to run - to install.
Realistically, in this country all swimming pools whether above or in-ground, need heating to obtain the maximum use from the summer season.
Having a pool in your garden may be aesthetically pleasing to the eye but unless the pool feels warm and inviting, the pool will not be used to its full potential. By investing in a Heat Pump, this can change!
Generally, the main heating systems available for swimming pools are Gas (LPG or Propane), Electric or Oil heaters. Some of these heaters can be beneficial from a cost point of view but tend to lose their appeal when it comes to installation costs.
A heat pump does not generate heat, it simply captures it and moves it from air to water thus, providing ant efficient and environmentally friendly system for heating your swimming pool!

COMPETITION RA & RA DELUXE MODELS
What model you choose is very much dependant on the size of your pool and your budget.
What Model? What Price?
Competition (RA range 9KW Outdoor / Indoor) :-
The RA model consists of the same integral parts but has the circulation fan mounted on the side, therefore extracting and exhausting the air from the sides. Where an outdoor installation is not possible the RA model can be adapted and installed in an indoor environment, using the through-the-wall duct kit.
Competition (RA Deluxe range 14KW & 29KW Outdoor / Indoor) :-
Costing half the price of other leading manufactures (without compromising on quality) the Deluxe range offers a Titanium Heat Exchanger, and a Scroll Compressor as standard ensuring that you receive many years of reliable service. Using such high quality parts enables Competition to offer exceptional warranty terms that we believe are unmatched within the industry!
Titanium Heat Exchanger
All heat pumps have one thing in common; they all require the pool water to pass through a heat exchanger. The chemicals in pool water including chlorine, bromine and muriatic acid, can be extremely corrosive if the owner lets the pool chemistry get out of balance for whatever reason.
The heat exchanger is a concealed unit that allows the hot refrigerant gas to pass through it. In the event that these pipes were to leak due to corrosion, and pool water enters the sealed refrigeration system, the entire heat pump is ruined has to be replaced at great expense!
When you purchase a COMPETITION heat pump you will have peace of mind that all models have a Titanium heat exchanger fitted as standard. A Titanium heat exchanger eliminates all the chemical corrosion. The Titanium exchanger is bulletproof to chlorine, bromine and all other common pool chemicals.
In fact, Competition is so confident that their heat exchanger can withstand any amount of chemical abuse that they offer a 5 year warranty regardless of water chemical balance.
Installing the RA indoors has the added benefit of:-
- Minimal noise output - as the circulating fan is housed indoors it is ideal for situations where noise issues may be a problem e.g. neighbours or close proximity to the house or pool area.
- Extra heat can be extracted from inside the housing i.e. shed, greenhouse, garage etc., and then transferred to the pool water!
- Heater is unseen
- No corrosion issues
- No need to cover in winter as debris cannot enter the heat pump.
The 9kW is a ideal size for the smaller pool installation and at a great price! The RA model uses a plastic circulation fan and so is quieter than the Deluxe model due to its steel blades that resonate a little more sound.
