GENERAL INFORMATION

The maintenance of swimming pool water can be complicated and difficult. Trying to balance the pH, alkalinity and chlorine in a pool is a daunting task for most private swimming pool owners. Cloudy, unpleasant smelling water, dirt and grime deposits are all commonplace and widely experienced.

Technical problems which arise due to lime scale build-up on your pool's equipment such as the heating element can be costly and time consuming. Complex measurements and the use of many different chemical agents are normally needed to combat these problems. Good quality maintenance of a swimming pool requires time, money and knowledge.

WATER TREATMENT

Not only scientists, but the European Government itself has come to realise that the use of chlorine to prevent bacterial growth and create a clean pool environment is not necessarily the best way forward. Because chlorine bleaches and oxidises, many people suffer as a result from unpleasant side effects such as irritation of the eyes, skin and mucous membrane causing tightness of the chest and irritation of the bronchial tubes.

The patented AquaFinesse™ POOLPUCK is an all-in-one solution which greatly reduces the need for chlorine in your swimming pool. The unique balanced composition prevents the problems associated with chlorine, improves the quality of the pool water and enhances the swimmers overall experience. Extensive tests by leading European laboratories such as, the KEMA institute and Labo Derva in Belgium among others confirm the many advantages of the AquaFinesse™ POOLPUCK.

The AquaFinesse™ POOLPUCK complete pack consists of:

• 30 AquaFinesse™ POOLPUCKS, enough for 3 months maintenance of an average swimming pool (circa 40,000 litres). Choose from 20,000 or 60,000 litre pucks.
• Chlorine tablets, enough for 3 months maintenance.
• Floating dispenser.
• Gloves.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

The AquaFinesse™ POOLPUCK is only intended for use in swimming pools and whirlpools. Assuming a reasonably clean swimming pool (surfaces and water in good condition).

STARTING WITH AQUAFINESSE™ POOLPUCK

1. Maintain the filter following the instructions and rinse it out regularly as normal. The filter is and remains the most important element in water purification.
2. Ensure that the pool bottom is regularly vacuum cleaned and backwash the filter as set out in the instructions.
3. Keep the correct level of water in the pool. After backwashing the filter add fresh tap water to the pool until the usual level is reached.
4. Place one of the chlorine tablets supplied in the basket of the skimmer. Do this using protective gloves. Read the instructions on the packet.
5. Calculate the amount of water in the swimming pool. Calculation guide: A pool is 7 metres long, 3.5 metres wide and on average 1.5 metres deep. The capacity is then 7 x 3.5 x 1.5 = 36.75 m3 =36,750 litres. Rounded up, 40,000 litres.
6. Add an AquaFinesse™ POOLPUCK. 1 tablet is sufficient for a weekly maintenance of 20,000 litres of pool water. In the calculation guide (40,000 litres), 2 AquaFinesse POOLPUCK tablets would be used each week.
7. When first using AquaFinesse™ in a pool a double dose must be used for the first week. Half of this double dose goes in the skimmer basket and the other half in the floating dispenser. In the case given in the calculation guide this means for the first week: 2 AquaFinesse™ POOLPUCK tablets in the skimmers basket and 2 tablets in the floating dispenser.
8. Use the normal dose in the weeks that follow and place the AquaFinesse™ POOLPUCK only in the floating dispenser and allow it float on the water's surface.
9. Regularly check to see if there is still a chlorine tablet the skimmer basket. If the chlorine tablet has dissolved then replace immediately with a new one. AquaFinesse™ POOLPUCK do not contain any anti-algae agents. Normally the chlorine tablets will keep the pool algae free.
