The Garden Games complete climbing frame sets are specially designed play centres which offer guaranteed FUN. Their years of experience means that they have designed a range of climbing frames which will suit boys and girls of any age, ability or interests.

Everything that you see in the climbing frame is included in the price including wooden swing seats as standard. We also offer a selection of complimentary
options which can be added to your climbing frame anytime, so as your children grow so can your climbing frame. All of our designs incorporate flexibility in their layout so can be arranged to fit any garden.

We specialise in wooden climbing frames. At no extra cost to you, wooden climbing frames offer the same structural stability as metal versions yet blend in with its surroundings and will age and weather beautifully. As timber has variations in grain and knots you also receive the extra bonus of a truly unique climbing frame.

To preserve your climbing frames life we undergo a series of steps to ensure you receive the maximum lifespan of your climbing frame. Once we have selected and machined our chosen timber, all edges are planed smooth with rounded edges and all fixing holes and recesses pre drilled. This entire process is carried out to 1mm precision to ensure maximum quality. Finally we pressure treat the timber using a non-toxic chromium / cadmium / arsenic free solution specifically approved for children’s playground equipment.

As wood is a natural material, over time cracks or splits may appear. Caused by the fluctuating moisture content in the air and ground splitting is unfortunately inevitable. Although it will not affect the structural stability of your product, here at Action we have tried to minimize them by only machining rectangular sections. Stronger than the alternative round section, rectangular timber contains less heartwood meaning the chance of cracks and splitting will be greatly reduced

Garden Games climbing frames only use the finest wood. For years they have researched into which timber makes the perfect Climbing Frame, and after much deliberation they have decided to use top grade PEFC pine. This timber is not only a beautiful, high quality material but it is also felled from a sustainable source therefore ensuring the social, economic and ecological needs of future generations.

The PEFC Council is an independent, non profit, non-governmental organization which promotes the sustainability of harvesting timber. At present the PEFC runs 25 national schemes and has over 1,000,000 km2 of forest certified making it the largest timber certification scheme.

Installation and Assembly

Before buying a Garden Games Climbing Frame it is important to measure your garden. To ensure safety an unobstructed area of 1.5m should be left clear around your climbing frame as well as 2.5m clear zone in front and behind swings.

Although it is possible for climbing frames to be assembled by one person it is not recommended. These climbing frames are large and heavy due to the substantial timber used; therefore, we advise that assembly is undertaken by two or more people.

Included in the climbing frame packaging will be a detailed set of assembly instructions and a drill bit for preparing screw frames. Packaged in a sealed silver foil pack will be your instructions and fixings. Please take care when opening this package as some parts are easily lost in the grass. We recommend you cut open the platform pack wrapping in such away as to provide a surface on which to lay out the fixing components.

When assembling your climbing frame you will need the following tools:

  • 13mm box or socket spanner
  • 17mm box or socket spanner
  • A cordless drill with Philips screwdriver
  • Spirit Level
  • Tape measure

Build times are set out below, but are a guideline only and assume a reasonable level of DIY competence and a flat, level and clear area.

  • 4-6 hours- Monkey Bars
  • 6-8 hours- Aundel; Monmouth; York
  • 8-10 hours- Arundel Twin; Monmouth Twin; Carisbrooke
  • 10-12 hours- Gate Lodge

When assembling your climbing frame, you may find it easier to make up the tower components horizontally before raising them upright. The majority of our climbing frames allow you to arrange your climbing frame in multiple configurations to fit the shape of your garden.

Climbing Frame Safety

Safety is at the heart of our design specification. From the substantial timber sections used for the frames, through to the accessories and fixings, all components meet the stringent EN71 specification for children’s play equipment. Designs are put together in a safe but challenging combination to ensure children are at minimal risk when playing.

Whilst all our climbing frames are self assembly, to ensure that your climbing frame is assembled correctly we also offer an installation program. Trained professionals with years of experience can quickly and efficiently assemble your climbing frame giving you peace of mind that your child can play safely.

To provide the maximum protection for your child we also offer a variety of Safety mats. Easy to install and compatible with the entire climbing frame range, our safety mats provide both complete safety as well as enhancing your climbing frames appearance.

Garden Games Climbing Frames carry a 10 year warranty against rot and insect infestation on all timber sections. However, we recommend that you inspect your climbing frame periodically to ensure that the structural stability has not been affected due to the natural aging and weathering process of the wood.
