This huge, fascinating and brightly-coloured puzzle depicts a colourful map of the world, colour coded to show the different continents. As well as learning about our world, they will find out about some of the animals that live in other countries, and some of the features and landmarks they will see there. It obviously helps children with basic geography, but there are also many ways of adding to the play value by asking your child to look for specific pieces before the puzzle is put together: find a piece with a seahorse on; a piece showing nothing but sea; a piece showing Santa Claus; a piece with the word 'Africa' on it. Once the puzzle has been completed, there is plenty of opportunity to to discuss the finished picture. You can talk about places you may have been to on holiday, or animals that you have seen in zoos. You can compare the sizes of different countries, or talk about what the weather will be like in different parts of the world. The finished puzzle measures 88cms x 61cms, and contains 150 pieces, so is one of our more challenging puzzles. It also comes with a poster which shows not only the map as it appears on the finished puzzle, but with the addition of a key showing the icons that appear on the map.
